It's rare to find such an intimate
connection between a building and water as exists between the Holiday Shores Motel and the mighty Mississippi River.
The Holiday Shores sits directly on the west bank of the Upper Mississippi in McGregor, Iowa, not just overlooking but practically overhanging the main river channel. There isn't another site like it from Minneapolis
to New Orleans. The historic city of McGregor,
Iowa is a small river-front city of 900 nestled in the scenic wooded Mississippi River Valley. McGregor is located one
mile from Marquette, Iowa (population approx 400), home of the Lady Luck Casino, and three miles from Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin
(population approx 6000). The three cities make up what is sometimes referred to as the "greater Prairie du Chien
metropolitan area." The area offers antique and speciality shops, great restaurants, boating, hiking, camping and
all sorts of family entertainment. Northeast
Iowa and Southwest Wisconsin are host to a wide variety of organized activities and events thoughout the year including many
in McGregor/Marquette that can be viewed at www.mcgreg-marq.org/calendar.htm. Information on many of the local tourist attractions can also be found on the "Location" page of this web
site. While the Fall and Spring stand out for their colorful foliage, all seasons are beautiful at the Holiday Shores.
It makes the perfect homebase for your vacation anytime of the year, whether visiting the Marquette/McGregor area, or other
locations in the Upper Mississippi River Valley. Whatever brings
you to McGregor, business or pleasure; consider the Holiday Shores Motel for a great value with a great view and the friendliest
